The course requires a certain knowledge of basic electromagnetic eld theory, for instance the basic course in electromagnetic eld theory at an undergraduate level. We expect the Maxwell eld equations to be known, as well as basic vector analysis, and calculations with the nabla operator r. to the expansion of solutions of Maxwell’s equations with respect to vector wave functions.
